Pharmacy Technician Per Diem
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares and dispenses medications by measuring, counting, labeling and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Assists pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
- Prepares and compounds medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standards
- Delivers medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
- Maintains medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
- Supports medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
- Collaborates with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
- Complies with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations
- Answers phone calls and questions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician, in an acute care hospital setting
- IV Compounding Experience
- Proficiency with pharmacy software
- PTCB/NHA
- High school diploma or equivalent

Pharmacy Hours
This centralized pharmacy utilizes Pyxis automation and the Paragon pharmacy system. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-8:00pm and weekends and Holidays from 7:30am-4:00pm.
Schedule
This per diem, nonexempt position can work up to 19 hours/week in a variety of day and evening shifts.
Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
