Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem)

About the role

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is actively hiring Pharmacy Technicians for their inpatient Pharmacy Department. No mandatory shift extensions are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assists in performing pharmaceutical functions including unit dose dispensing, compound preparation, and other related procedures requiring knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology.
• Works under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist.
• Opportunity to specialize in areas such as sterile compounding, control substance handling, or obtaining medication histories in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
• Prior experience in a sterile compounding environment is preferred.
• Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred.
• Pharmacy registration with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection must be obtained within 30 days of hire and by March 31st of each year.
