Responsibilities
- Pulls medications from stock and matches medications with the corresponding label generated by the pharmacist involved with entry of medication orders into the patient's computer-generated profile.
- Maintains stock (accuracy, timely restocking, removal of expired medications, rotate stock) of medication areas.
- Prices and stocks incoming deliveries. Notifies Pharmacists of out of stock medications and appropriately updates the out of stock board.
- Restocks returned medications.
- Maintains controlled-drug medication records, assists in the filling of patient prescriptions and prepares unit-dose medications all under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Aids in maintaining accurate patient information in the pharmacy computer database.
- Aids with billing, claims, and other related technical and clerical needs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: State Pharmacy Technician license: Required in state of practice (CA or OR) Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Preferred
