Pharmacy Technician/OnCall/UKHC - Specialty Operations

Job Summary

Assists pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution at UK Specialty Pharmacy. Fills prescriptions and packages orders for delivery in a busy retail-based pharmacy setting. May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KBOP) is required within 30 days of new hire if not previously registered as a pharmacy technician in KY. Must renew registration with KBOP on day one if lapsed and must keep registration in good standing and renew annually.

Prefered Education/Experience

• One year previous work experience (preferably in a related field) is preferred.
• Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field.
• Hired candidate must maintain registration with the KY Board of Pharmacy.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• General chemistry knowledge, basic algebra, and proficient reading/writing/speaking in the English language, preferred.

Salary Range

$16.20-$24.82/hour
