Start date: September 8th. This is a contract position based in Durham, NC.

About the role

Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work and general instructions on new assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Review contents of referral to ensure complete and accurate information has been received.
  • Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information to ensure all other groups can successfully serve the patient.
  • Conduct initial check of prescription to ensure clinical accuracy for processing.
  • Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns so that all information is collected and accurate before it reaches other teams for further processing.
  • Update concise progress notes to ensure other roles within the workflow are able to quickly assess the status of the referral.
  • Enter new provider information (e.g., National Provider Identifier) accurately into the system so that the Business Intelligence group can complete their reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required; must be current without restrictions and in good standing.
  • CPhT NC registration required.
  • 2 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting required.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Schedule

  • During the reverification period (onsite daily): 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • After reverification (hybrid schedule): 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

Pay

During the reverification period: $23.00/hr. After reverification, pay is $22.00/hr for full-time employees. Conversion to full-time employment is not guaranteed but may be offered to high-performing employees.
