Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient, PRN

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient, PRN works within a collaborative inpatient pharmacy team consisting of approximately 13 technicians and 8 pharmacists, supporting a variety of hospital caregivers and patient care areas. This role offers broad exposure to inpatient pharmacy operations through rotating responsibilities across multiple workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the Registered Pharmacist.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Fill medications carts daily.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackage bulk medications.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA).
• AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
• Six months of hospital experience preferred.
• Prior inpatient experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.
