About the role
Join our dynamic pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a vital role in supporting medication distribution for both inpatient and outpatient care. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and delivering medications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain inventory systems including Pyxis stock and CII Safe Repackage medications and support unit dose systems
- Perform monthly medication checks to ensure quality and compliance
- Clean and disinfect the pharmacy clean room per established protocols
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients
- Uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, Maryland Board of Pharmacy, USP 795/800)
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Previous pharmacy technician experience (preferred)
- Registered Maryland Board of Pharmacy Technician (required)
- National Certification (preferred)
- Must obtain Maryland license within 30 days if licensed in another state
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
Physical & Mental Requirements
- This role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and fine hand/eye coordination.
- Mental demands include sustained attention to detail, multitasking, and effective communication.
