Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient

Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, you'll support inpatient pharmacy operations through medication preparation, distribution, inventory management, and pharmacy technology support. Schedule

Rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM or 10:30 AM–9:00 PM), every other weekend, and only 4 holidays annually.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, label, and deliver medications.
• Compound sterile products using aseptic technique and USP 797 standards.
• Process patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Manage medication inventory, including stocking, ordering, and expiration monitoring.
• Handle controlled substances and assist with discrepancy resolution.
• Support automated dispensing cabinets and other pharmacy technologies.
• Answer calls and assist patients, families, nurses, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED required.
• Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
• 1+ year of pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred.
• Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required prior to starting. Registration information.
