Pharmacy Technician III Certified Acute Care

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician III Certified Acute Care performs complex functions in compounding and pharmacy distribution or pharmacy distribution functions and medication histories necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. This role works under limited supervision, maintains workflows, troubleshoots complex situations and technology, and ensures quality of regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains pharmacy workflow, including compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications and distributing medication in compliance with current standards.
• Obtains complete and accurate medication histories based on organizational standards.
• Serves as a reference and mentor for other pharmacy technicians, including training and orienting new employees.
• Communicates effectively with team members inside and outside of the pharmacy, providing quality customer service.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience (4 years may be considered). Successful completion (graduation) of a CH-accredited technician training program is equivalent to 2 years of experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification required.
• Must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
