About the role

Scripps Mercy Pharmacy is a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. This position is available at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, a facility known for its comprehensive services including a Level I Trauma Center, O’Toole Breast Care Center, and a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and performs technical duties supporting safe, efficient, and accurate medication preparation and distribution.
• May assist with mentoring pharmacy technician I as assigned.
• Performs more advanced pharmacy technician duties including overseeing workflow, assisting tech specialists, performing unit inspections, sealing/locking emergency trays or carts, and checking the work of other technicians (tech-check-tech).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current California Pharmacy Technician License.
• Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience in current practice environment or in sterile compounding.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience as a pharmacy technician in any practice setting.
• 2 years' experience in relevant practice area is preferred.

Qualifications

Experience/Specialized Skills:
