About the role

Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) is a leading provider of patient care and safety, offering diverse pharmacy career opportunities. This role is for a Registered and Certified Pharmacy Technician II who will work under licensed pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support.

Responsibilities

• Trains, leads, and serves as a resource to other technicians to manage daily workflow.
• Able to perform all activities in the pharmacy technician scope of practice.
• Competent and skilled to perform all duties of Technician I and Technician II.
• Independently executes and completes pharmacy projects or reports under the direction of pharmacy leadership.
• Demonstrates proficiency in one or more specialty areas as required to meet department demands (e.g., neonates, oncology, purchasing, automation, auditing, reimbursement, total parenteral nutrition, inventory management).
• Assists with development, organization, and implementation of process improvement, continuous quality and safety initiatives and outcomes.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (ACPHT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician Exam (EXCPT) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) - State of Florida (FL)

Job Functions of a Technician I:

• Maintains and supports medication distribution systems and distribution channels, including automated dispensing cabinets, unit dose systems, code carts, trays and kits.
• Prepares, fills, receives, delivers, stocks and restocks medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department and drug storage areas.
• Assists with customer service and patient needs, including answering telephones, managing work queues and completing medication histories.
• Prepares non-sterile compounded medications, including hazardous preparations.
• Processes medication charges/credits when applicable.
• Responsible for orienting and training new pharmacy technicians or students.
• Completes other responsibilities as assigned in support of pharmacy operations.
