About the role
The Pharmacy Technician I supports the pharmacy management and pharmacist staff in managing medications for all patients within the organization, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supports pharmacists in non-discretionary support services.
- Compounds sterile and non-sterile medications.
- Maintains and adheres to regulatory requirements for compounding.
- Fills carts, replenishes automated dispensing cabinets, and maintains PAR levels.
- Ensures medication availability by delivering to patients and departments.
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy environment.
- Complies with state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One-year continuous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
- Active licensure by the California State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
- PTCB National Certification desirable.
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures.
- General knowledge of drug distribution models.
- General knowledge of infection control practices.
- Knowledge of handling and recordkeeping of controlled substances.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy-related regulatory requirements.
- Basic computer skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to solve problems.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
