PHARMACY TECHNICIAN I

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician I supports the pharmacy management and pharmacist staff in managing medications for all patients within the organization, adhering to all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacists in non-discretionary support services.
• Compounds sterile and non-sterile medications.
• Maintains and adheres to regulatory requirements for compounding.
• Fills carts, replenishes automated dispensing cabinets, and maintains PAR levels.
• Ensures medication availability by delivering to patients and departments.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy environment.
• Complies with state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One-year continuous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Active licensure by the California State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification desirable.
• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures.
• General knowledge of drug distribution models.
• General knowledge of infection control practices.
• Knowledge of handling and recordkeeping of controlled substances.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy-related regulatory requirements.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to solve problems.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Repetitive hand and finger use.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods.
