Pharmacy Technician I

About the role

Performs activities involved in the preparation and dispensing of medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Completes pharmacy functions that do not require a licensed pharmacist, allowing the pharmacist more time for clinical activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medications according to physician orders and pharmacy protocols.
• Assists in maintaining accurate medication records and inventory levels.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
• Collaborates with pharmacists on patient care and medication management.
• May assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping.

Requirements

• Mn Pharmacy Technician Registration (PTR) – required at hire/start date.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or ExCPT) through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) – required within 1 year of hire/start date.
• Follows State Board of Pharmacy guidelines/requirements for Pharmacy Technicians.
• At least 18 years old.
• At least 6 months of previous pharmacy technician experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 2-3 years pharmacy technician experience.

Schedule

Casual; Monday - Friday: 8am-4:30pm, 9:30am-6pm, 11am-7:30pm, 1:00pm-10pm; Saturday and Sunday: 9am-9pm.
