Responsibilities
- Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist.
- Checks areas of work routinely for maintenance of quality control.
- Reads and interprets veterinarian orders received in pharmacy and transcribes them onto a pharmacy computer medication profile.
- Prepares medications in accordance with standards of pharmacy practice, including compounding for use under direct pharmacist supervision.
- Prepares prescriptions to be dispensed after pharmacist approval.
- Checks and removes outdated meds on a routine basis to ensure no deteriorated meds are in stock.
- Keeps appropriate records.
Requirements
- Perform basic math accurately.
- Operate a calculator proficiently.
- Interact with computer software via a keyboard.
- Pay attention to details and retain information readily.
- Read, comprehend, and translate regulations & laws into understandable instructions.
- Communicate verbally in a professional manner with co-workers, shareholders, and other contacts.
- Function effectively as a team player.
Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Nebraska with ability to achieve certification within 6 months from employment start date.
- Automation experience preferred (e.g., Prada or ScriptPro).
