Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Sterile Compounding
Under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist and following established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and USP guidelines, prepares hazardous and non-hazardous sterile drug products. Prepares of all types of pharmaceuticals : hazardous and non-hazardous, controlled and non-controlled, with regards to sterile preparations.
Maintain accurate records of products prepared according to established documentation guidelines.
Follows established procedures for appropriate documentation in electronic health record or similar.
Maintain clean and safe environment for drug manipulation.
Accurately document work performed throughout the compounding and/or medication delivery process in various electronic and automated systems including but not limited to: EPIC, DoseEdge, Omnicell.
Distributes compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) and non-sterile drug products as specified by the Pharmacist to designated areas on the patient floors.
Maintain and store inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies within the pharmacy or other assigned areas under proper storage conditions and/or security.
Receives and scans incoming medication orders from Wholesalers and Supply Chain. Appropriately and handles paperwork for each order.
Rotate stock within storage areas to promote the use of first expiring medications to prevent drug shortages and mitigate potential for patient harm.
Discard expired drugs in accordance with established department procedures.
Accurately document pertinent information regarding medications throughout day-to-day operations including but not limited to physical count, expiration dating, and beyond use dating if applicable.
Keep accurate inventory and communicate with Pharmacy purchasing team.
Absorb and maintain clean room environments including but not limited to temperature and pressure monitoring.
Maintains the work area and equipment in the clean room, to include restocking of medications, diluents, and supplies.
When working in the main pharmacy, assists customers by answering incoming calls and greeting customers at the Pharmacy window.
Retrieves orders for pickup.
Non-Sterile Compounding

Maintain accurate records of products prepared according to established documentation guidelines.
Maintain clean and safe environment for drug manipulation.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
