About the role
The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in the pharmacy operations team, contributing to the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to quality care.
Responsibilities
- Prescription & Patient Support
- Accurately enter and process new and refill prescriptions in pharmacy management systems.
- Contact patients and prescribers to collect missing information.
- Respond to inbound calls and make outbound calls to support patient care and pharmacy services.
- Report drug adverse events to internal systems and client portals.
- Demonstrate discretion in handling protected health information (PHI) and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Dispensing & Order Fulfillment
- Manually dispense oral medications, liquid medications, and medical supplies according to protocols.
- Verify prescription accuracy and completeness prior to fulfillment.
- Count, label, and pack medications and supplies for shipment within required time limits.
- Operate or assist with pharmacy automation systems and fulfillment technology.
- Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain and replenish dispensing units and inventory levels.
- Remove expired or recalled medications from circulation.
- Support receiving processes and monitor storage conditions to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Replenish shipping and production supplies as needed.
- Systems & Documentation
- Navigate pharmacy systems to confirm, document, and reconcile orders.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and operational reviews.
- Team Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with pharmacists, technicians, hub personnel, and fulfillment teams.
- Participate in training, quality checks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new technicians as appropriate.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Unrestricted Pharmacy Technician Trainee License – Arizona Location (required).
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred).
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience (retail, hospital, or specialty preferred).
- Must pass background check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Must be able to work on-site 2–5 days per week, depending on operational needs and job responsibilities.

- The ability to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy is preferred for certain job responsibilities.
