About the Role

Guardian Pharmacy of Orlando, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, offers an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team in Orlando, Florida. This role is performed onsite at a closed-door pharmacy, with all patient interactions conducted over the phone. The position requires registration with the Florida Pharmacy Board Registry and the ability to work in a high-volume environment.

Comprehensive training is provided side-by-side with the training team. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system accurately and timely to eliminate errors at dispensing.
  • Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing.
  • Ensure proper notes in the computer and cycle fill coding.
  • Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription.
  • Demonstrate caring, understanding, and courtesy when responding to calls from customers; route calls appropriately to ensure top-level service.
  • Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed during the regular shift.
  • Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up as needed with doctors’ offices on all refills assigned.
  • Develop proficiency in the utilization of all pharmacy systems (e.g., document imaging, legacy pharmacy computer operating system).
  • Assist with filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions to dispense to the patient as needed.
  • Develop and learn the cycle to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Maintain data entry records for cycle medication, fill requests, and process cycle medication orders needing renewal in addition to new cycle orders.
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements).
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB).
  • 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience).
  • Ability to accurately interpret and process pharmacy SIG codes with speed and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret handwritten prescriptions.
  • Must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment.

Skills

  • Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction.

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
