About the role

The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting the complex and personalized medication needs of patients at Holy Cross Hospital Salt Lake. You will meticulously process and dispense specialty medication prescriptions, including sterile compounding, manage inventory, and perform crucial administrative and financial tasks. You will also communicate with patients regarding their therapy, dosage, and delivery schedules, and assist pharmacists with patient follow-up and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and dispenses prescribed medications for patients.
  • Performs compounding of intravenous medications.
  • Assists in managing inventory.
  • Performs charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes.
  • Performs routine clerical/administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which you’ll work.
  • Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which you’ll work.
  • 6 months experience compounding of IV medication.
  • Knowledge:
    • Pharmaceutical patient care best practices and regulatory compliance.
    • Basic pharmaceutical mathematics and financial functions.
  • Abilities:
    • Prepare and compound various medications, including intravenous admixtures.
    • Apply pharmacy standards and procedures, including I.V. admixture and automated systems.
    • Communicate effectively in English and establish positive working relationships.

Pay

The posted compensation range of $19.05 - $30.29 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Schedule

Primarily day shifts with some evenings and mostly weekdays with some Saturdays. Shift varies. No remote work.
