Job Duties

  • Assists customers at the counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacists, and retrieves filled prescriptions.
  • Rings up orders.
  • Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges.
  • Assists Pharmacists in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer, to extent allowable by State law.
  • Preserves patient confidentiality.
  • Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering questions at pharmacy windows, and directing members to product location.
  • Assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist’s supervision.
  • Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State law.
  • Processes invoices and makes accounting entries using a computerized system.
  • Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs, and supplies.
  • Follows product storage procedures and standards.
  • Orders, receives, tags, and stocks over-the-counter products in accordance with merchandising plans for the department.
  • Creates product signs.
  • Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting.
  • Empty trash and operate a trash compactor and cardboard baler.
  • Follows security and safety procedures, including securing the department by appropriately storing or disposing of confidential documents and by using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste.
  • Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Absorbs ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
  • Assists with department duties as necessary.
  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous retail experience preferred. Must have strong customer service skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of basic computer operations. Ability to follow safety and security procedures.
