About the Role

Assists Pharmacists to fill and dispense prescriptions for customers. Provides a high level of member service while performing tasks such as retrieving prescriptions, processing transactions, updating patient records, and managing inventory using a computerized system.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers at the counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacists, and retrieves filled prescriptions.
• Rings up orders, processes payments (cash, checks, credit/debit), and provides change.
• Assists Pharmacists in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer, to the extent allowable by State law, while preserving patient confidentiality.
• Answers phones, provides prompt and courteous member service, answers questions at pharmacy windows, and directs members to product locations.
• Assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct supervision.
• Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State law.
• Processes invoices and makes accounting entries using a computerized system.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies, following product storage procedures and standards.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks over-the-counter products in accordance with merchandising plans for the department; creates product signs.
• Maintains department cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, dusting, emptying trash, and operating a trash compactor and cardboard baler.
• Follows security and safety procedures, including securing confidential documents and properly disposing of immunization supplies and hazardous waste.
• Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required.
• Assists with department duties and in other warehouse departments as necessary.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform the duties listed above under direct supervision.
• Open availability to meet business needs (except for religious or disability considerations).
• Authorization to work in the United States (proof required if hired).
