Pharmacy Technician- Cardiology

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service
• Performs general administrative duties as requested by physicians and office managers
• Processes prior authorizations and refill requests in the Electronic Medical Record system
• Affixes to connect patients with various patient assistance programs offered
• Maintains medication samples onsite and tracks dispensing
• Establishes and maintains relationships with various pharmaceutical representatives
• Takes incoming calls from pharmacies to provide refill authorizations, answer questions about medication interactions and clarify prescriptions
• Takes incoming phone calls from patients and assists them with medication concerns or takes messages for the physician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical principles and practices, including medical terminology and of insurance payors
• Ability to get along with the public and make patients feel welcome and comfortable
• Willingness to travel to satellite offices if necessary
• Maintain appropriate Pharmaceutical license
• The ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers
