Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Perform Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Locate correct medication and strength under direct pharmacist supervision.
• Prepare, count, label, package, and dispense pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approval.
• Interact with other departments to ensure accurately dispensed prescriptions are provided on a timely basis.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentation.
• Maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs, and document maintenance.
• Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, State, and Federal regulatory requirements.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required; coordinate clinical services with pharmacy staff.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
