Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the mental health and specialty pharmacy. The position involves dispensing medical prescriptions, performing clerical duties, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to consumers and clinic staff.
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct pharmacist supervision.
• Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders.
• Verify medication stock and enter data to maintain inventory records.
• Assist the pharmacist in pharmacy functions and ensure compliance with all federal and state requirements.
• Perform various clerical duties related to the department.
• Communicate with strong professional verbal and written skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active and non‑restricted Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Rhode Island.
• Access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST.

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $16.00 to $29.00 based on full‑time employment, local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, and other factors.
