PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Educational requirement: High school diploma or GED.
• License requirement: AR pharmacy tech license within 60 days of hire.
• Experience requirements:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Able to work in stressful environments.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Physical requirements:
  • Safety sensitive position.
  • Close eye work and hearing within normal range.
  • Conducts operations on the computer and multiple types of technology.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds of weight.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds may be encountered.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.

  JOB SUMMARY

  • Directly supervised by the Inpatient Pharmacy Team Leader.
  • Indirectly supervised by Staff Pharmacists.
  • Major function: Assist staff pharmacists with the medication dispensing process.
  • Major job responsibilities include:
    • Medication preparation.
    • Medication delivery.
    • Inventory management.
    • Answering/troubleshooting phone calls.
    • Managing automated dispensing cabinets.
    • Other duties as assigned.
