Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

The Data Entry Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service and accurately billing compounded preparations based on patient-specific prescriptions.

Job Activities and Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of patient information and receive patient payment
• Check prescriptions for completeness and enter necessary information into the computer to generate prescription labels and invoices (if necessary)
• Communicate with prescribers to obtain refill authorization, receive patient refills by telephone, and direct calls or take and relay messages
• Work under the supervision of a pharmacist and assist with large account orders as needed
• Maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Investigate incidences and variances as needed, documenting them and resolving issues
• Be cross-trained to help with other tasks as necessary

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• A high school diploma is preferred
• Must be a licensed pharmacy technician to perform fulfillment or compounding activities
• Excellent work ethic and personal drive to excel independently
• Solid PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
• A certified technician is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Standing for extended periods
• Fine motor skills
• Visual acuity
