Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound IV sterile medications following USP 797 and USP 800 requirements.
• Record and maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs/reports.
• Complete appropriate documentation of IV admixture for sterile compounded products.
• Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations accurately.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV preparations and sterile medications prepared in a clean room.
• Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles to ensure safe medication administration.
• Perform inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and standards of practice.
• Utilize aseptic techniques when compounding sterile preparations.

Qualifications

• Current Arkansas Pharmacy Technician registration preferred.
• Pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Aseptic training preferred but not required.
• Experience with sterile compounding or infusion pharmacy is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice.
• Experience with IV infusion processes and critical care environments is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain safety and efficacy in medication preparation.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
