Pharmacy Technician

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Position Type: Full Time | Pay Type: Hourly

About the Role

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play an essential role in assisting with the compounding and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals and other services to medical care providers and facilities under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals per physician prescriptions and Company, State, and Federal regulations.
• Performs Quality Control testing on all dispensed products.
• Assesses medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
• Ensures all nuclear products meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Complies with all Company, State, and Federal requirements for the handling and shipping of radioactive material.
• Keeps the laboratory clean as per regulatory specifications.
• Acts as a customer service liaison for the company, treating all internal and external customers with respect and assisting in resolving complaints.
• Informs management of complaints or requests in a timely manner.
• Ensures the timely delivery of nuclear pharmacy products to predetermined customers while meeting internal schedule and quality standards.
• Unloads products as per client specifications while providing excellent customer service.
• Accepts returns from clients where applicable.
• Breaks down delivery cases, disposes of radioactive materials, and sanitizes lead pigs.
• Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries and returns.
• Assists with stocking products and supplies, as well as tracking inventory.
• Notifies the Pharmacy Manager when products or supplies are low or need reordering.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures while safely carrying out responsibilities.
• Complies with all company safety standards and federal, state, and local laws.
• Performs other job-related duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Nuclear Pharmacist.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
• Ability to work a variety of schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Must possess excellent critical-thinking, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
• Good judgment and self-discipline.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid State driver’s license.
• Registered in Missouri and legally allowed to work as a pharmacy technician in Missouri.

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity for manipulating small items.
• Regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and up to 75 pounds on occasion.
• Able to handle standing, walking, and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals.
• Good eye-hand coordination; fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses) and normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz).
• Ability to analyze situations, set priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$22.00 per hour
