About the role
The Pharmacy Technician/Care Management Support Assistant 2 works as a liaison between case managers, doctors, nurses, and patients as they transition on service with One Infusion Pharmacy. They fulfill this role under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills the onboarding of new patients by communicating with case managers, nursing staff, and caregivers to gather necessary information.
- Schedules deliveries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring optimal patient care.
- Gathers all necessary medical documentation from providers, nurses, and patients to facilitate accurate medication dispensing by the pharmacist.
- Accurately inputs clinical and demographic information into the computer system to build an electronic medical record.
- Communicates proactively with referral sources and contracted providers to maintain strong relationships and serve as a key point of contact.
- Adheres to safety and quality assurance practices, complying with state and federal laws.
- Orders the correct drug products from the wholesale company if needed, and verifies the accuracy of product orders.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Completes incident forms and reports medication-related incidents and equipment errors.
- Assists with the training and supervision of new referral coordinators.
- Participates in on-call responsibilities and advanced projects within the pharmacy department.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor, Senior Pharmacy Director, and/or Clinical Pharmacists.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician License Required.
- Comprehend medical information and transcribe it into an electronic patient chart.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, capable of multitasking.
- Excellent phone etiquette and de-escalation abilities.
- Basic computer competency and experience with patient care registration or EMR systems such as Navihealth, Allscripts, etc.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of various vendors and supply needs.
- Verifies the accuracy of product orders received and checks prices against contracts and schedules of charges.
- Complies with One Infusion Pharmacy's formulary and understands the scope of services offered.
- Speaks knowledgeably about drug terminology and therapies/services provided.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
- Understands and complies with HIPAA guidelines.

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $40,000 - $52,300 per year, reflecting a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual factors.
