Position Summary
Essential Job Functions
- Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening
- Greet customers and answer questions
- Receive prescriptions and check their validity
- Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
- Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims)
- Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
- Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
- Undertake administrative tasks (e.g. record-keeping) as assigned
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards

Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- National Certification from an accredited pharmacy technician certification program approved by specific state regulations (e.g. PTCB, ExCPT, etc.).
- Language Skills
- Reads and comprehends instructions, light correspondence, and memos; Writes simple to complex correspondence; Presents information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees effectively.
- Mathematical Skills
- Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability
- Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written or oral instructions; Deals with problems involving some variables in standardized situations.
