Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Enter prescription orders into QS1 accurately and efficiently.
• Create and update patients’ personal profiles in EHR including patient demographics, allergy information, and insurance information.
• Count 25 prescriptions per hour accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure the patient receives correct prescriptions.
• Answer the phone in a timely manner.
• Assist Pharmacists with filling and labeling prescriptions.
• Communicate with providers and their staff to obtain refill authorization.
• Knowledge of common medication brands and generic names, doses, and indications to patients and staff.
• Collect cash and/or credit for payment of prescriptions.
• Understand medical terminology.
• Respect confidentiality and patient data.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.
• Regular and prompt attendance at work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License.
• Three to six months’ related experience and/or training preferred.
• Computer and Medical Terminology experience preferred.
