About the role

We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team. As our Pharmacy Tech, you will prepare and dispense drugs in accordance with standard procedures, document and maintain appropriate records, and contribute to our efforts to better the community.

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is a 100-bed acute care hospital offering a wide variety of healthcare services. Responsibilities

  • Count, package, and label unit doses for inspection by a pharmacist.
  • Assist pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels.
  • Perform quality control and auditing functions to ensure medications are appropriately available to caregivers.
  • Prepare I.V. mixtures and operate automated systems.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and perform clerical duties.
  • Actively contribute to hospital improvement by meeting core measures and service excellence goals.
  • Follow established guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes in patient care that result in patient harm.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Current Florida Registered Pharmacy Tech or Florida licensed pharmacy intern.
  • Pharmacy Tech Certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • Pharmacy knowledge including medical terminology and prescription drug names.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong organizational, PC, analytical, and clerical skills.
