Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, measure, label, package, and document medications in accordance with established procedures and pharmacist supervision.
  • Transfer medications into sterile, disposable syringes while maintaining compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Receive, review, and process prescription orders and refill requests to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Enter, maintain, and verify medication, inventory, billing, and demographic information within electronic record systems.
  • Support medication dispensing activities by preparing prescriptions, affixing labels, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Operate and monitor automated medication dispensing equipment to ensure accurate distribution and inventory control.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and provide customer service support, referring clinical and medication-related questions to the appropriate pharmacist.
  • Aid patients, clients, and health department staff by providing information, locating resources, and facilitating access to pharmacy services.
  • Calculate and document charges associated with medications, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records to support pharmacy operations, inventory management, and program compliance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience working in a pharmacy; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Pharmacy Tech 2 (HCS031) or position equivalent.
