About the role
Fry’s Food Stores, now part of The Kroger Company, seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, and adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activities
- Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and safety guidelines according to company, local, state, and federal health codes
- Manage inventory and ordering processes with primary and secondary wholesalers
- Use computerized inventory management systems to track and order medications, devices, supplements, and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and customer areas
- Accurately complete billing procedures and maintain records
- Answer phones, triage calls, and address customer inquiries
- Handle vendor coupons, cash shortages, and company shrink guidelines
- Operate cash registers and adhere to cashier handling policies to prevent loss
- Provide a positive customer experience during reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
- Support pharmacists in their responsibilities, excluding those requiring professional judgment
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding confidentiality
- Participate in company health and wellness initiatives
- Perform tasks related to legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries
- Work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts in a non-confrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
- Support and assist individuals with special needs, minors, and older adults
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Age 18 or older
- Confidentiality of information
- Experience in a comparable pharmacy setting (preferred)
- EPRN familiarity (desired)
