About the role

Fry’s Food Stores, now part of The Kroger Company, seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, and adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activities
• Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and safety guidelines according to company, local, state, and federal health codes
• Manage inventory and ordering processes with primary and secondary wholesalers
• Use computerized inventory management systems to track and order medications, devices, supplements, and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and customer areas
• Accurately complete billing procedures and maintain records
• Answer phones, triage calls, and address customer inquiries
• Handle vendor coupons, cash shortages, and company shrink guidelines
• Operate cash registers and adhere to cashier handling policies to prevent loss
• Provide a positive customer experience during reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
• Support pharmacists in their responsibilities, excluding those requiring professional judgment
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding confidentiality
• Participate in company health and wellness initiatives
• Perform tasks related to legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries
• Work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts in a non-confrontational manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
• Support and assist individuals with special needs, minors, and older adults

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Age 18 or older
• Confidentiality of information
• Experience in a comparable pharmacy setting (preferred)
• EPRN familiarity (desired)
