Pharmacy Technician

Job Purpose and Summary

We help our customers and patients navigate the health care system by improving access, lowering costs, and being a trusted partner for every meaningful moment of health. Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures
• Show empathy and genuine care by creating heartfelt and personalized moments, offering immunizations, and demonstrating compassionate care
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by completing basic inventory activities, as permitted by law
• Embrace a growth mindset, be flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Support additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and volunteering at offsite clinics
• Comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and adhere to CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety

Requirements

• Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
• Must complete required training within designated timeframe
• Must have attention and focus, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
• Must have physical capabilities to lift up to 20 lbs and move items between low and high positions

Qualifications

• Must have 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Preferred previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Must be able to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
