Pharmacy Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Create and update patient profiles as needed and within scope.
  • Answers phone calls to answer questions and intake requests.
  • Affix to patients with locating over the counter (OTC) medications and refer them to Pharmacist for more complex questions around medications.
  • Assist in ordering, labeling, and keeping stock of medications, medical supplies, etc.
  • Operates cash register to take patient payments.
  • Receive supply orders and unpack into necessary areas.
  • Restock prescriptions when applicable.
  • Assist with third-party rejections.
  • Pull expired stock from shelves.
  • Keep work area neat organized.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of North Carolina.
  • 3+ years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Current BLS certification (required within first 90-days of employment).

  • Ability to uphold the highest level of confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of FDA health and safety regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
  • Frequent repetitive motions.
  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing and/or writing).
  • Lifting of greater than 50 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is low, consistent with that of a typical office.
