About the role
A Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare medications, manage medication inventory, and support the delivery of pharmaceutical services to patients in a hospital setting. This role involves assisting with medication preparation, sterile and non-sterile compounding, maintaining accurate medication records, maintaining medication inventory, stocking medications, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare medications as directed by a licensed pharmacist
- Manage medication inventory, including restocking and tracking supplies
- Assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding as needed
- Maintain accurate medication records and ensure patient safety
- Support the delivery of pharmaceutical services to patients
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current incumbents must show active progress towards obtaining Pharmacy Technician certification and Montana licensure and obtain a Certified Pharmacy Technician Provisional license through the Board of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam success is required within 1 year of obtaining provisional license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
