About the role

This position is an apprentice-level role within Cleveland Clinic’s School of Pharmacy Technology. The apprentice will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, gaining hands-on experience in inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding).
  • Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings.
  • Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program per the student handbook.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 12 months of hire
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy upon hire
  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months
  • Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
  • Basic computer skills

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 12 months of hire
  • Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee upon hire
  • Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and PTCB Certification within 12 months
  • Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
  • Basic computer skills

Pay

Minimum hourly: $15.00 Maximum hourly: $150.00

Schedule

Full Time Shift: Day/Evening Rotation
