About the Role
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying the medication packaging process and outcomes. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
Schedule
Seven consecutive days on (8:00 PM – 6:00 AM) followed by seven consecutive days off per week.
Responsibilities
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, including material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
- Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients (revenue management).
- Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Understands limitations in performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice.
- Transports medications to patient rooms or nursing medication rooms.
- Retrieves unused medications from patient rooms or nursing areas.
- Maintains excellent communication skills.
- Creates and fosters a cooperative teamwork environment.
- Able to readily adapt to institutional roles and schedules.
