Pharmacy Tech Nights

About the Role

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying the medication packaging process and outcomes. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations.

Schedule

Night shift: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM, working seven consecutive nights followed by seven consecutive days off.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, including material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
• Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients (revenue management).
• Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Understands limitations and remains within the scope of practice for a registered technician in dispensing medications.
• Transports medications to patient rooms or nursing medication rooms.
• Retrieves unused medications from patient rooms or nursing areas.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to create and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.
• Able to readily adapt to institutional roles and schedules.
