Responsibilities
- Supports inpatient pharmacy operations including central pharmacy operations.
- Fills and packages medications accurately according to safety, regulatory, and hospital standards.
- Triage incoming phone calls and inbasket messages, ensuring prompt and accurate routing.
- Delivers medications to Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets and conducts monthly inspections.
- Collaborates with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other providers to resolve medication-related questions and facilitate timely delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous pharmacy work experience preferred.
- Registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals required.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Certification relevant to work area within 6 months of hire.
- Able to maintain familiarity with a large number of medications and focus on attention to detail/accuracy.
- Customer service oriented.
- Knowledge and use of general office equipment and procedures, including computer/keyboard.
- Able to solve simple mathematical and logistical problems in the work environment.
- Able to effectively budget time, work efficiently and accurately, and follow procedures with minimum supervision.
Qualifications
A strong commitment to customer service, integrity, accountability, and attention to detail are essential. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and critical thinking skills are required.
Skills
Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to multitask, and proficiency in handling medications and medical records are necessary.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $18.70 - $26.18 per hour.
