About the role

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacy operations and ensure excellent service to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Meets and demonstrates competency in all Pharmacy Technician I and II requirements.
• Successfully completes required training and maintains competency in one or more of the following areas:
  • Sterile medication preparation
  • Pediatric sterile and nonsterile medication preparation
  • Controlled substance inventory, distribution, and disposal
• Ensures compliance with the department’s Controlled Substances Compliance Plan.
• Fills medication orders, pre-packages, compounds pharmaceuticals, refills stock supplies, delivers medication, and performs various clerical duties as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA)
• Specialized, short-term training in pharmacy law, practice standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms, and trade/generic names
• Successful completion of PHS Sterile Products Compounding Competency
• At least one year of experience in pharmacy or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program
