Pharmacy Tech III

About the Role

Under general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Leadership Team, this position ensures the highest compliance with Medication Management regulations, including CMS, JCAHO, DEA, BOP, and USP. Responsibilities center on direct and indirect patient care to ensure the right drug, right dose, and right formulation is prepared and ready for administration. Additional activities may include inventory management, purchasing, 340B program support, financial pathways, critical problem-solving, software knowledge and management, demonstrating initiative, and managing workloads as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Medication Management regulations (CMS, JCAHO, DEA, BOP, USP).
• Support direct and indirect patient care by preparing medications for administration (right drug, right dose, right formulation).
• Assist with inventory, purchasing, and 340B program activities.
• Participate in financial pathways and critical problem-solving initiatives.
• Manage pharmacy software and workloads efficiently.
• Demonstrate initiative in daily tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) (required).
• Pharmacy Technician licensure (required; eligibility to obtain within six months of employment accepted).
• One year of relevant healthcare experience (required in lieu of licensure at time of hire).
• Hospital or institutional experience (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) (preferred).
