About the role

The pharmacy technician performs a variety of duties related to preparing and dispensing medications according to standard procedure under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide quality patient care. Maintains inventory by verifying receipt, restocking, and removing outdated medications. Provides excellent customer service to physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff members. Displays commitment to the pharmacy department by working collaboratively with team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience in hospital pharmacy at EAMC or 2 years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting or at least 4 years of retail pharmacy experience
• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or graduate from an accredited pharmacy technician training program with CPhT status; must maintain certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of hospital inpatient experience
• Compounded Sterile Preparation experience
• Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT)
