Pharmacy Tech

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in the procurement, distribution, documentation, and compounding of drugs, solutions, and equipment.
• Be familiar with dosages and volumes of medications and solutions associated with infant, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
• Function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
• Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions, including the preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• No experience required
• Hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
• IV admixture experience Preferred
• IV chemotherapy preparation experience Preferred
• PHARM TECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern Upon Hire Required
• PTCB Certification Preferred
