Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in the procurement, distribution, documentation, and compounding of drugs, solutions, and equipment.
- Be familiar with dosages and volumes of medications and solutions associated with infant, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
- Function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
- Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions, including the preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
- Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- No experience required
- Hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
- IV admixture experience Preferred
- IV chemotherapy preparation experience Preferred
- PHARM TECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern Upon Hire Required
- PTCB Certification Preferred
