About the role
At Ochsner Specialty Pharmacy, you will compound IV admixtures and other assigned preparations using aseptic techniques and proper pharmaceutical procedures. You will maintain stock in various areas including the IV room, Central Pharmacy, compounded items, and bottles and vials. Accurately filling medication orders and entering adverse drug reaction data into the computer system are also part of your responsibilities.Responsibilities
- Prepares IV admixtures and other extemporaneous compounds.
- Demonstrates professional growth.
- Stocks and fills medication orders.
- Completes assignments and projects.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction, explaining services, requesting permissions, and adjusting communication style.
Requirements
- Enrolled in good standing in an accredited College of Pharmacy or graduate who has successfully passed the NABP Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination.
- Experience working with standard pharmacy and office equipment.
- Current Pharmacy Intern Permit from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy, permitted to practice as a pharmacy intern by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
Qualifications
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
