Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Aid in reaching sales and profit goals for the department.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment to encourage customer return.
• Communicate effectively with customers and store personnel.
• Provide drug counseling with customers and prescribers.
• Facilitate charge for customer, maintain accurate records, and provide over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Interpret, fill/refill, label and bag prescription orders completely and accurately.
• Evaluate appropriateness of RX orders with consideration to patient safety and legal requirements.
• Receive verbal RX orders and accurately reduce to writing in adherence with State and Federal laws and regulations.
• Work independently at various locations and travel as needed.
• Engage in all clinical activities for which they have received appropriate training.
• Delegate monitoring and ordering supplies, properly stock incoming orders, compare and check incoming orders, and assist with supervision and delegation of responsibilities to associates.
• Run, review and interpret reports, oversee administrative needs in the department in the absence of the department manager, and notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all pharmacy incidents or miss-fills to store management and Sedgwick within the proper timeframes as presented in the Corporate Accuracy Policy.
• Report all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.

Requirements

• Minimum: Current Pharmacist license in the state where employment is sought, with no stipulations or Board ordered restrictions.
• Education: Graduate of a US School of Pharmacy or have passed a foreign equivalency exam.
• Exam: Successfully passed the NAPLEX exam.
• Ability: Work at various locations, travel independently, and delegate responsibilities.

• Staff pharmacist: Promote trust and respect among associates, create an environment that allows customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated, and communicate effectively both written and verbally, with customers and store personnel.
• Knowledge: Possess knowledge of the pharmaceutical products and supplies kept in the department to be competent making recommendations to patients and prescribers.
• Phone calls: Receive verbal RX orders and accurately reduce to writing in adherence with State and Federal laws and regulations.
• Computer system: Demonstrate ability to accurately and efficiently utilize RX computer system.
• Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory, reconciliation, and research of controlled substances in compliance with the record keeping of the controlled substance account.
• Immunizations: Engage in all clinical activities for which they have received appropriate training and actively promote proper immunizations to patients and provide them safely and effectively.
• Reports: Run, review and interpret reports, and oversee administrative needs in the department in the absence of the department manager.
• Accidents: Notify management of customer or employee accidents.

• Physical demands: Must be able to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
