Responsibilities
- Maintain efficient workflow and regulatory compliance.
- Process, package, dispense, and coordinate medication delivery.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Cookbook staffing and productivity.
- Coordinate with pharmacists, nursing facilities, and other departments.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Train, mentor, and support pharmacy technicians and operational staff.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, corrective action, and recognition.
- Afford adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Conduct routine audits of medication processing and dispensing activities.
- Investigate and document medication errors, discrepancies, and operational incidents.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances.
- Support regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, medication storage, and expiration date management.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve operational issues.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Complete any other tasks assigned by managers.
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Texas.
- Four-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years’ Long Term Care Pharmacy experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Driven and motivated problem-solver.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software applications.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to work overtime with little or no notice.
