Pharmacy Director

PharMerica is a non-retail pharmacy specializing in exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs of hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide. Responsibilities

• Controls pharmacy costs to meet or exceed budgeted cost per script.
• Provides leadership and direction to build an effective team and continually develop associates to improve performance.
• Maintains positive customer relationships; attends quarterly business reviews.
• Works with Client Services and Sales team to effectively communicate with customers (DONs, Administrators, Staff RNs) and resolve customer issues.
• Implements, maintains, and reports on core processes.
• Ensures pharmacy compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Emphasizes dispensing efficiency and accuracy with the workforce, and manages the dispensing process to exceed the Company’s goal.
• Manages the staffing and scheduling process to optimize production and contain labor costs.
• Manages pharmacy personnel issues including hiring, evaluations, discipline, and separation, and monitors and approves payroll.
• Manages physical inventory to meet client requirements and Company goals.
• Implements Company, Region, and District policies, processes, and initiatives.
• Provides timely and accurate reports as required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (required). MBA or PharmD (desired).
• Management/supervisory experience (required); experience in pharmacy/healthcare (required).
• P&L responsibility (desired); LTC experience (desired).
• Computer skills (required).
• Business/financial knowledge (desired); knowledge of pharmacy regulations (desired); LTC pharmacy knowledge (desired); performance management (desired).
• Licenses/certifications as required by state regulations; clean driving record and proof of auto insurance.
• Results-oriented; planning/organizing; communication (oral/written); people management; strategic and analytical thinking; teamwork.
