About the Role

As Pharmacy Director at North Alabama Medical Center, you will function as the Pharmacist in Charge and oversee the operational management of the Pharmacy Department. This role is responsible for managing the department in compliance with the organization's philosophy, policies, procedures, goals, and budget while incorporating customer service strategies to achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate administrative responsibilities related to daily operations management.
• Develop goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for departmental operation.
• Improve services provided and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Keep leadership informed of operational activities, needs, and problems.
• Drive the installation and implementation of new services, procedures, and pharmacy automation products.
• Foster teamwork throughout the organization.
• Develop and execute Performance Improvement Programs involving pharmacy operations.
• Demonstrate skills in measuring, assessing, and improving organizational performance.
• Encourage professional development of departmental personnel through in-service and external education.
• Manage the pharmacy team, including hiring, training, scheduling, resolving performance issues, coaching, and mentoring.

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD and/or MBA/MS (or equivalent education/experience) preferred.
• Current state license to practice pharmacy.
• Minimum five years' experience in hospital pharmacy is desirable.
• Demonstrated management/leadership skills and/or program management.

About the Facility

North Alabama Medical Center is a 263-bed facility offering the community's only open heart surgery site, a complete line of women's and children's services, and a full range of medical and imaging services. The facility is a Certified Chest Pain Center and recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the American Heart/American Stroke Association. The 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama.
