About the Role
Join our PharMerica team! PharMerica is a closed-door pharmacy focused on fulfilling the pharmaceutical needs of long-term care and senior living clients. We operate in a non-retail environment and are in high growth mode, offering advancement opportunities for career progression. This is a hybrid position based in Louisville, KY, with a schedule of Mon-Fri, 8:30am to 5pm.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely adjudication of resident billing and re-billing through Medicare Part B & D, Medicaid, Hospice, and Private Insurance Plans.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly review and resolution of unbilled claims.
- Review monthly billing statements for facilities to ensure accuracy.
- Claim research and resolution.
- Partner with facility contacts to resolve claim processing issues and achieve adjudication/payment.
- Advocate for clients and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
- Support pharmacy operations using Framework, Docutrack, and Fusion.
- Provide onsite training for new hires.
- Assist with the integration of new facilities/clients.
- Handle core billing responsibilities for newly onboarded facilities.
- Maintain and update the Billing Training Manual.
- Perform other assigned clerical duties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Pharmacy Tech License preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in multitasking, typing, and advanced technical skills.
- Experience in healthcare billing, preferably in pharmacy.
- Familiarity with online claims processing and Medicaid/Medicare billing practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional Requirements for Current PAL Employees
- 1+ year(s) of billing experience as a PAL Core Billing Coordinator.
- Adherence to Pharmacy Alternatives, LLC attendance policy.
- Not currently on any form of Performance Improvement/Corrective Action Plan.
